Flower Crowns, wedding gowns & a whole lot of prettiness!

On Monday I spent the day working with a bunch of gorgeously creative ladies on a bridal shoot, over in York. Bridal shoots are always good fun as we can all put our creative hats on and work together to produce some really beautiful shots.   This particular shoot was arranged by the lovely Felicity at Andrea Bambridge Bridal in York. I worked with Felicity on a shoot last year and it was a fantastic day, so when she emailed me asking if I would do the makeup & hair styling on another shoot I jumped at the chance! The purpose of this shoot was to showcase a collection from Andrea Bambridge and boy oh boy were the gowns stunning… it was like being in wedding dress heaven working from their studio in York! I had free reign to do whatever I liked with makeup and hair which is always a dream but even more so when I have 2 gorgeous models to work on. Kayleigh and Laura are both naturally gorgeous so it really wasn’t difficult when it came to their makeup & hair. To be fair, bridal is bridal so I couldn’t go crazy but it’s always fun to let the creative juices flow and get really inspired, which I totally was with all the fabulous dresses and of course the absolutely stunning flowers from Fiona Hogg Floral Design. The super talented (and equally as lovely) Georgina of Georgina Harrison Photography was behind the camera shooting and wow, she is quite simply amazing!! Her work is so beautiful (seriously, go check her out www.georginaharrisonphotography.co.uk).  I cannot wait to...

No Sun Required…

We all love a good tan, right? I know I do… somehow I just feel so much better when my skin is tanned. Its like something magic happens and my skin instantly looks firmer and I feel more confident in myself. Some may argue that is ridiculous and I shouldn’t need a tan to feel better in my own skin but hey, it’s true and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I’m sure there are lots of people that will feel the same way. For me, I tan quite well on holiday but naturally my skin is almost ‘see through’ (tis true!) and seeing as I usually only go on holiday once or twice a year, the ‘see through’ look is most of the time for me. When it came to getting married in Ibiza a couple of months back, I knew I wanted to be tanned on my big day, but I also knew it would take longer than 3 days for my tan to take shape. I don’t use sunbeds for obvious reasons but I did resort to going on a couple before my wedding (naughty I know & not something I recommend at all, or something I do usually). I didn’t even consider a spray tan, as I thought with the heat and sweat it would probably look awful come my wedding day. If only I had known about MoroccanTan Spray Tanning, my problems would have been solved (in a safe, sunbed free way!) My lovely nail technician Kat (she does the most amazing nails!) told me about MoroccanTan & I was instantly intrigued. I’ve always been...

A Valentines Pout

Hi lovelies…. So this is my very first blog post and I’m so excited about it! My first post was going to be on one of my favourite facial serums at the moment, however with it being Valentines Day tomorrow, I decided to do a post on my favourite red lipstick instead. There are so many different shades of red lisptick, with various finishes but my all time fav has to be Arbonne’s Runway Rouge.  It is a more pinkish shade of red, infused with a subtle shimmer and is a red that really suits my skin tone (It does look a deeper shade of red in the images and looks more matte than it actually is). The pigment is fantastic; it is very vivid, without looking over the top and is very long lasting (I always take time when applying red lipstick to ensure I create a stain on the lips for durability).  The ingredients include Mango butter, alpine Skullcap, pomegranate and vitamins A, C and E. I have to say it is intensely hydrating so great if you suffer with dry lips yet is still  extremely long lasting… an all round winner for me! I always use a lip liner when applying a red lipstick (here I have used one of Arbonne’s lip liners in Cherry). Lip liners are great for creating the perfect shape (you can change the shape of the lips and give the effect of fuller lips if they are thinner). I begin by applying a thin layer of red lipstick with a lip brush, creating more of a stain on the lips.  If...
